Weighing less than Ray
Being able to wear my wedding & engagement rings again
Having a deep desire to exercise and enjoying exercise
My thighs/bottom not touching both sides in the bath (gross I know)

Need to add new target:

Week 3 Weigh in

:o( put on 2lb this week. Excuses: been hard exercising as over did walking on Saturday an now my walking range is much reduced due to leg and back pain. Need to get on with swimming or something now.

Phil lost 2lb this week, so really well done to him, I'm now lagging by 5lb... big kick in the pants Ali, get on with it!!

Week 3 day 3

Yesterday Sara and I joined a guided walk 5 miles around Langham/Boxted near Colchester. It was tough to walk at the faster pace and boy did my legs burn and my back ache, but I felt good achieving it! I've not exercised today but I have exercised everyday for the past week so I did not feel bad about that.

New goal, that my thighs don't rub if I walk quite a way when wearing a skirt. Again gross but true.

Phil's email post week 1 weigh in

Hi Ali

Just a quick picture of me to show me post 6 pound weight loss.

Phil

Week 2 weigh in

Well despite a far from perfect week food- or exercise-wise I managed to lose 2lb!! I am very pleased. In a way it's a lesson in not needing to go full pelt, hell for leather at weight loss, ifact that's probably what burn's me out with it. Lower legs still pretty painful when walking fast.

Day 11 Struggling big time

Struggling big time still, aarrgghh! I don't want to do anything... I know I need to go for my lunchtime walk but don't want to. Reasons? Don't feel like it, no energy, also wearing a skirt today and (gross though it is to admit) any serious walking wearing a skirt when you're my size results in sore chaffed thighs... yuk. Probably also that I did precious little over the weekend and ate more than I should have so it's time to pick myself up, dust off and get going again.

Great Word yesterday Steph, ... IN JESUS NAME I can do this!!

Some personal goals

I am looking forward to:

Weighing 17st something again (being out of the 18st bracket)
Weighing less than Phil
Weighing less than Ray
Being able to wear my wedding & engagement rings again
Having a deep desire to exercise and enjoying exercise
My thighs/bottom not touching both sides in the bath (gross I know)

Week 1 weigh in

Yippee, 4lb off this week! Now 18st 3lb, can't wait to be 17st something again :o)
Not bad for now.

Phil has won this week having lost a whopping 6lb, great loss Phil, so now weighs 17st 6lb. Good one Phil.

Day 7

Just walked for 40 min solid at lunchtime, I set the timer on my phone to 20min, walked till it went off then walked back again. Calves still quite strained, looking forward to that lifting. Getting a bit nervous about the weigh in tonight, need to accept that it will be one of many... :o)

Day 6 - ...one day until weigh in

Well, it all seems to be going OK. My legs have stopped screaming quite so loudly at all the unexpected exercise. Have to try to find an hour tonight to get on the strider or the Wii fit.
I've managed to dupe myself into going out for a walk each lunchtime for the last week. Need to start thinking of some forfeits me thinks for whoever loses least each week :o) Melanie has kindly offered to be 'keeper of the chocolate' for me dispensing a small amount each day to keep big chocco binges at bay :o)

Day 4

Been v. good today. Went to the Warrener for lunch with Ma & Pa, Glen and Philip and stuck to a chicken salad followed by pineapple juice for dessert. Also did 30 min step and did my first 20 x lie down, stand ups... starting time is 3min 24 s, so will see over time how much that comes down by. Probably do a bit more in a while although feeling hungry now... time for tea!

Day 3

Busy day yesterday for Lou and J's wedding. I'm surprised at what a difference introducing a bit of competition makes to being able to resist over-indulging all those lovely cakes etc etc! Church today, it's so encouraging to be part of such an awesome bunch of people. Walked for a hour today, looking forward to being able to run it!

The first 24

Phil weighed in at 17 st 12lb... let the challenge begin!

...well my calves feel like they're screaming! I've given them a bit of a pummeling: an hour on the X-trainer last night, walked 2 miles at lunchtime and an hour tonight on the Wii fit. Oh for the day when I crave the exercise :o), although focussing on beating Phil goes a surprisingly long way towards making up the deficit!! Btw Patrick, if you ever read this, your running the London Marathon 'at your age' (not that old really, I know) is spurring me on, I'm ashamed to say that at 12 years your junior I can't run ...yet..., watch this space...

Had my last naughty this morning.... a delicious chocolate and almond croissant and coffee with friends at Le Gros Franck... awesome.

Go Girl!

Hey Sweetie,

You go Girl! Kick his Butt!

Love Ya

HI ALI

Challenge Accepted!
First to lose 3 pound? ONly Kidden?

I need to loose about 4 stone but 3 sounds like a nice number.
DO a weigh in and take note - I suggest starting Sunday (after wedding) yum yum, ha ha

Ready steady go!
By the way, I have to warn you, I am competitive and will therefore annihilate you. Grrrrrrrr!

See you tonight.

Phil

First weigh-in

Oh my goodness me, do I really want to tell you this??... I am so embarassed...

Here goes... 18st 7lb ...wonder who'll be able to meet my gaze tomorrow

Well there's only me can change what the scales read... 'honk' if you're with me!!!

First post: Getting started

Well, having got to my heaviest weight ever (weighing tonight (30/04/09) so will allude to the starting weight then...) I needed desparately to kick start the whole weight loss process, everything else wasn't working... hence the Sumo2Supremo challenge to my friend and pastor, Phil.

Some of you, understandably, will be grossed out and appalled at how people like me let ourselves go so badly... I am too, but it's happened and I've got to sort it out before I grow to more gargantuan proportions.

Can I persuade you to reserve judgement, slip into the shoes of a very ordinary fatty
for a mile or two now and then and see if you come out of this experience feeling the same?

Perhaps through following this blog you'll be able to come to a more realistic understanding as to the mindset... ... if you share this kind of mindset I hope something written here may be the trigger you need (that ever elusive mental switch) to help you on your way. I pray that you to discover your worth and come to a more balanced opinion of yourself.

It's a journey I've just started on just a couple of months back with CBT, and probably 5 years
ago when I joined Liberty and when they started to show me that I am loved unconditionally, I have a place in this life and even though I don't realise it others appreciate some of the little things that make me me, it's taken a heck of a long time to even get this far, but I'm excited now and on the move...

As for Phil, well he's a bloke so it'll be far more straightforward no doubt :o) He's just getting fit again after a horrible rugby injury two years ago and needs to shift some pounds too... I can't speak for him, so hopefully he'll come on and give you some background at some point...

off to weigh in... big gulp... do I really want to tell the World?!?
